Trains to Montchavin - Les Coches, La Plagne
Ski La Source encourages train travel because it is one of the most environmentally friendly ways of travel. A train ride to the Alps is not only beautiful, but it is also comfortable.
We think it’s a family-friendly way to get here because children can walk around and play games.
Where to Book Train Travel to Montchavin - Les Coches
When travelling by train from the airports or major cities, the train will stop at Aime la Plagne first, then Landry (our closest train station) and then Bourg Saint Maurice, the end of the line.
You could get off at any of these stations and get a connection to Montchavin - Les Coches, but it is much cheaper and quicker from Landry.
Train Station, Landry
Landry is our closest train station; almost all trains stop here but do check.
Once at Landry, you could use the local bus, which shuttles guests up and down the hill. The navette (shuttle bus) is the cheapest and most environmentally friendly way of travelling from Landry train station to Montchavin - Les Coches.
Usually, there are taxis around but remember, Landry is small so it is worth booking something.
Train Station in Aime-la-Plagne
Aime-la-Plagne is much bigger than Landry; there is a bustling town a little way up the hill from the train station, so if you are waiting for someone, you can get off here and go for lunch.
A three-minute walk will take you around the corner to the main street. To the right, you will find a kebab shop and a boulangerie (Fournil Les 3G) for bread, sandwiches and quiche.
To the left, you will find some restaurants and a Casino supermarket. There are plenty more places to eat in the old centre, which is about a 10-15 minute walk.
There’s a taxi rank just outside the Aime train station, but it is much cheaper to get a bus up to the mountain resorts.
Train Station in Bourg Saint Maurice
Bourg Saint Maurice is at the end of the train line that travels up the Tarentaise Valley.
Bourg is part of Les Arcs ski resort, which is attached to La Plagne, via a huge ski lift that takes people across the valley - The Vanoise Express.
In Bourg Saint Maurice, there are plenty of places to eat around the train station.
There’s a left luggage compartment too, if you expect to spend some time in Bourg.
You could get a taxi or a local bus to Montchavin - Les Coches resort from Bourg train station, which would take about 30 minutes, depending on the weather.
