Picking Up the Hired Car in the French Sector
Geneva airport supports both France and Switzerland for international travel.
When you hire a car in the French sector of Geneva airport, you must pick it up from that side of the airport.
Sometimes you come through to the international side but can quickly go through to the French side. Here’s how.
Collect your baggage;
Go to the check-in level and follow the "destination France" signs;
Go through customs (to the right of the check-in hall, next to the Air France (KLM) ticket counters.
Cross the customs (on the right of the check-in hall, near the Air France KLM desks). You may need to show your contract for car hire.
Drop off the Hired Car in the French Sector
You must return your car to the French sector of Geneva airport for departure.
For a few airlines, you can check-in in the French sector.
However, on most airlines flying to the UK, you must go to the Swiss side to check in. You can reach the international sector through the transit area.
A Friendly Warning
When renting a car in the French sector you must return it to the French sector. A fee may be charged if you return it to the Swiss side.
Have plenty of time to drop it off at the French side of the airport.
