Shops in Montchavin - Les Coches
Montchavin - Les Coches has all the amenities you could wish for, whether you’re staying in our self-catered accommodation or our catered chalets.
Here, we highlight the food and shops you will find in the two villages, perfect for wandering around after a day of skiing.
There are activities other than skiing; see our activities page. Or pop over to the Montchavin - Les Coches bars and restaurants page to see what the area has to offer in this regard.
Both Montchavin village at 1250 metres and Les Coches at 1450 metres have a bakery, Spar shop, newsagent, Tabac (literally translated as tobacco, selling just that), loads of souvenir shops and plenty of professional ski-hire shops.
Each village has a delicatessen that sells locally produced cheese, such as Beaufort.
You’ll find ingredients and equipment on loan to prepare local Savoie dishes - just look in either delicatessen or the local butcher in Les Coches.
Create a fondu, pierrade (an electrical hot stone to cook meat in individual pieces whilst sitting at the dinner table) or raclette night with your group. Don’t forget mustard, salad, potatoes and gherkins to have the real french experience.
The butcher in Les Coches sells a range of pre-made meals such as tartiflette and poulet rôti (pre-roasted chicken).
